Untile is a digital product design and development company based in Viana do Castelo.
We’re looking for a Junior Fullstack Engineer to join us through an IEFP-funded internship. This is a role for someone at the very start of their journey – with up to one year of experience – who is curious, hands-on and genuinely excited about building software. You don’t need to master a long list of tools; you need solid fundamentals, the drive to learn fast, and real fluency with AI as part of how you work.
As a fullstack engineer, you will work on a squad, touching both the frontend and the server side of the products we build. We need our developers to be versatile and passionate about technology. You’ll learn alongside experienced engineers, with mentorship and code standards to guide you from day one.
YOUR JOB:
- Learning to build next-generation web (and mobile) applications, on both the frontend and the server side;
- Writing clean, readable code with the guidance and mentorship of our senior engineers;
- Using AI tools thoughtfully in your daily workflow – to research, write, debug and speed up your learning;
- Collaborating in a smart environment where new ideas are always welcome;
- Brainstorming ideas and helping carry them through to real features;
- Working within a well-opinionated technology stack, alongside developer tools and methodologies our team is constantly trying to improve;
- Working in a variety of different business areas.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Eligibility for an IEFP-funded internship;
- Up to 1 year of experience – this is a role for someone at the start of their career;
- Foundations in web development, with some exposure to both frontend and backend (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and a basic grasp of how APIs and databases work);
- Genuine, hands-on familiarity with AI – you’re comfortable using AI assistants (LLMs, AI coding tools) in your everyday work and eager to get better at it;
- A real desire to learn, and comfort in being outside your comfort zone;
- Craftsmanship to create clean, maintainable code;
- Some comfort with version control systems (we use Git);
- Good English, written and spoken;
